Case Study 4 – Provision of National Risk Management Training Solution - National Retailer

The Challenge:
RISC Associates were asked to
1. Plan the delivery of First Aid and Health and Safety training nationally.
2. Design a one-day course for store managers and assistant store managers covering retail loss prevention 
    and conflict resolution.
3. Work with the client to develop an on-line reporting system to meet mandatory legislation with regards to 
    health, safety and fire safety as well as security related incident management.

The Solution:
RISC Associates responded to the initial brief by;
• Identifying key sites across the UK from which training courses could be delivered.
• Designed an annual training programme for courses including first aid, 1-day and 3-day health and safety 
  management training.
• Conducted historic incident analysis to identify problematic locations in relating to verbal abuse, intimidation 
  and threatening behaviour, along with cross reference to stock-loss results. Designed a one-day course 
  covering retail loss prevention and conflict management for a target learner group.
• Delivered the national training requirement in all the above subject areas.
• Worked in partnership with the client to design and develop a bespoke software solution for the  
  management of all risk management operations.

The Result:

All mandatory training has been delivered to key employees in first aid and health and safety management. All staff members (2000) have received additional e-learning training in fire safety, health and safety and manual handling basics. Key personnel at risk have received specialist training in retail loss prevention and risk management. Bespoke software has been trailed in designated areas and is planned for rollout throughout the business.
